Announced on 4 June 2025, the "Collectif des Éco-Organismes" marks a major turning point in the structuring of EPR in France. By joining together under non-profit association status (loi 1901), the producer responsibility organisations (PROs) intend to strengthen their coordination, but also clarify their role with producers, public authorities and stakeholders.
Their mission is twofold:
- Highlighting the skills, experience and innovations within each EPR scheme;
- Voicing a collective position on changes to the regulatory framework, fee scales and operational practices.
A commitment to listening and building together
In a sector subject to rapid change (the AGEC law, eco-modulation, environmental labelling...), this grouping shows a clear intention: to listen more closely to needs on the ground, including those of producers, distributors, local authorities, craftspeople and social and solidarity economy actors.
The chair of the Collective, Dominique Mignon (Ecomaison), together with Nicolas Defrenne (Treasurer, Refashion) and Arnaud Humbert-Droz (Secretary, Citeo), states that this initiative is part of an ambitious roadmap: to support changes in EPR while strengthening transparency and clarity in the actions of the PROs.
