How to obtain your UIN in 3 steps
Step 1: join a PRO or set up an individual system
Identify the EPR schemes that apply to your products, choose the relevant PRO, sign the membership contract, then declare the quantities you place on the market and pay the eco-contributions. Large groups can opt for an authorised individual system; in this case, the reference of the approval order will be used for the UIN request.
Step 2: send your registration information to ADEME
The PRO sends ADEME your administrative information: SIREN/SIRET number, company name, intra-EU VAT number, schemes concerned, activity code, contact details, and its own identification. Check in your member area that everything is correct to avoid delays.
Step 3: receive your UIN
Once registration is confirmed, ADEME generates the UIN within about 48 hours. Your PRO sends it to you by email or through your online account. You must then add it to your Terms and Conditions, key contractual documents and website. If you still haven't received your UIN, contact your PRO: a missing validation step may be the cause.

Number structure
The UIN includes: FR + six digits (national registration number), an underscore, a two-digit scheme code, then four random characters. Example: FR123456_43PLRZ.
